Aqib Talib Will Miss Broncos White House Visit After Being Shot In Leg On Sunday
BOSTON (CBS) -- Denver Bronos cornerback Aqib Talib will miss the team's trip to the White House on Monday after suffering a gunshot wound to the right leg on Sunday morning.
Talib is "doing OK" according to the Broncos team spokesman, and is expected to be released from the hospital on Monday.
Talib, a three-time Pro Bowler, was one of three people shot at the Vlive Club on early Sunday morning, according to WFAA8 in Dallas.
According to a facebook post by ESPN's Adam Schefter: "Bullet entered and exited his leg. Hit no arteries, tore no ligaments. Talib got stitches, no surgery. Lucky."
The shooting appears to have been accidental according to one report.
Talib played a season and a half with the New England Patriots after being acquired from the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at the trade deadline in 2012. He helped solidify a shaky secondary and helped the team make it to the AFC Championship Game in both of those seasons. He left after becoming a free agent in 2014, signing a six-year, $57 million deal with the Broncos.
Denver's mandatory minicamp begins on Tuesday.
