Andover Student Featured At White House Film Festival

WASHINGTON, D.C. (CBS) – A Massachusetts teenager is taking her film talents to the White House as she participates in a film festival focused on equality.

Sixteen-year-old Anna Yeo of Andover High School is among 15 students from around the country whose videos were chosen to be screened at the White House Friday during the second annual Student Film Festival.

Yeo made a stop-action film called "Start Here" that is intended to show that giving back and making a difference can be done by changing the way people perceive others.

President Barack Obama will speak to students during the film festival about his "My Brother's Keeper" goal that aims to help young Americans reach their full potential, the White House said.

During a second day of the film festival on Saturday, Yeo and her fellow students will go to the Newseum to participate in workshops teaching best practices in the film industry. The day will include tips from professional filmmakers and actors.

The Student Film Festival is sponsored by the American Film Institute and Participant Media.
