ANDOVER (CBS) – One driver was killed and another injured in a 5-car crash on Interstate 495 in Andover on Monday morning.

The crash happened just before 7 a.m. on I-495 South near Interstate 93.

State Police said a 2010 Honda CRV, driven by a 59-year-old Maureen Bonnell from Haverhill, slammed into a 2015 GMC Sierra pickup from behind. Three other vehicles were also involved in the crash.

The driver of the CRV was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash.

A 57-year-old Maine man who was in the Sierra was hospitalized with non-life threatening injuries.

Police said preliminary investigation shows that rush hour traffic was slowed or stopped before the crash. The CRV hit the Sierra at "a speed greater than that of the other traffic."

Only the left lane was open following the crash, resulting in heavy delays. The road reopened just before 9 a.m.
