Amtrak Train Strikes Vehicle, Driver Killed
SOUTH KINGSTON, R.I. (CBS) -- An Amtrak passenger train from Boston struck a vehicle on the tracks in Rhode Island Saturday night, killing the driver.
South Kingston police said the vehicle had driven onto the southbound tracks when it was hit at 11:21 p.m. The sole person in the vehicle was pronounced dead on the scene.
Police said no one on the train was injured.
The victim's identity has not been released and the crash is under investigation.
