Flight To Dublin Makes Stop In Boston Due To Medical Issue

BOSTON (CBS) – An American Airlines flight made an unscheduled landing at Logan Airport Monday night after a passenger suffered a medical issue.

Flight 722 was headed to Dublin, Ireland from Philadelphia when the pilot called for a landing in Boston.

The airline says a female passenger may have experienced a medical issue and she was restrained by her husband.

The plane landed safely at 10:22 p.m. and was met by State Police troopers.

The woman was removed from the aircraft and transported to Mass. General Hospital for evaluation.

The airline originally reported the flight landed due to an unruly passenger. State Police said further investigation revealed she had not been unruly, but rather was suffering from a medical condition.

On Twitter, in response to a passenger on the flight, American Air said they were "letting someone off" in Boston and then they would be on their way.

The flight was expected to continue to Dublin after a mechanical check late Monday night.
