Alzheimer's And Brain Awareness Month

May 15, 2015
Did you know there are 5 million Americans living with Alzheimer's disease? 120,000 of them live in Massachusetts. Currently, there are over 200,000 Latinos living with Alzheimer's disease in the United States - a figure that is expected to rise to over 1.3 million by the year 2050. Because June is Alzheimer's and Brain Awareness Month, on this edition of Centro, we've decided to do a special segment, shedding some light on AD and tell you about some of the events that are taking place during this awareness month. WBZ's Yadires Nova-Salcedo talks with Leonor Buitrago, Programs Coordinator and Latino Outreach for the Alzheimer's Association, Massachusetts/New Hampshire Chapter. Tune in!
