Offer Made For Aaron Hernandez's North Attleboro Home

NORTH ATTLEBORO (CBS/AP) -- An offer is on the table to buy Aaron Hernandez's home in North Attleboro--but if it's sold, the money will be held pending a wrongful death suit filed on behalf of the man he was convicted of killing in 2013.

A motion was filed Thursday allowing Hernandez's fiancee, Shayanna Jenkins-Hernandez, to sell the house she shared with Hernandez up until his arrest.

Hernandez family lawyer George Leontire confirmed Hernandez's estate received an offer for the 7,100-square-foot home on Ronald C. Meyer Drive, which has been on the market for over a year.

"There is an offer, and they've taken various offers over time, but there is an offer and we'll see how it goes," said Hernandez family attorney George Leontire. "Anything can happen. This is a real estate sale, we've all bought houses."

The pending sale price was not disclosed in court filings. The offer expires Friday.

The 15-room home was listed for just under $1.3 million. According to a Realtor.com listing, the house sits on a half acre and has five bedrooms, five full bathrooms, and two half-bathrooms.

It also has a three-car garage, a pool, and a basement with a sauna, ice bath, and theater room.

Hernandez was arrested at the house in June 2013 in the murder of Odin Lloyd.

The former Patriots tight end was serving a life sentence for that murder when he hung himself last week in his cell at the Souza-Baranowski Correction Center in Shirley.

If the house is sold, the money will be held pending the wrongful death lawsuit filed by Ursula Ward, the mother of Odin Lloyd. After Aaron Hernandez's death, that wrongful death lawsuit now names his estate instead of him.

Jenkins Hernandez is seeking to preserve whatever she receives for the house to cover any damages awarded in the Lloyd case "and any potential future actions arising out of decedent's death," court documents state.

Lawyers for Jenkins Hernandez and Ward asked Thursday that the name of the potential buyer of the home be kept sealed. Ward's lawyer also filed paperwork changing the defendant listed in the lawsuit from Hernandez to his estate.

Leontire confirmed there is currently no money in Aaron Hernandez's estate.
