Aaron Hernandez Jurors Shown Odin Lloyd's Bullet-Riddled Clothing
BOSTON (CBS) – Jurors in the Aaron Hernandez murder trial were given a show and tell during testimony on Wednesday.
Prosecutors rolled out a tire so a Massachusetts State Police investigator could show how he examines treads.
Before that, a crime lab worker displayed Odin Lloyd's blood-stained bullet-riddled clothing in front of the jury box, including a sweatshirt with 11 bullet holes in it. Prosecutors say he was shot six times.
Also Wednesday, prosecutors tried to persuade Judge Susan Garsh to allow evidence in another unrelated shooting Hernandez is accused of.
Hernandez's friend Alexander Bradley is suing the former Patriots player for allegedly shooting him in the eye four months before Lloyd's murder.
Before the trial began, Garsh ruled it would not be allowed, but agreed to reconsider since defense attorneys argued Hernandez's friendship with Lloyd is a reason he had no motive to kill him.
Prosecutor William McCauley said defense attorneys "beat the drum of this friendship, or this alleged friendship."
Defense attorney Jamie Sultan called the idea "frivolous" and said "there is no reason for the court to revisit this."
Garsh handed the defense a victory, sticking with her original ruling to keep the Bradley shooting out.
