7 Hurt In Waltham Triple-Decker Fire
WALTHAM, Mass. (CBS/AP) — Waltham fire officials say seven people are being treated for minor injuries after an early morning fire at a triple-decker home.
Firefighters responded to the home on Ash Street at about 3 a.m. Wednesday.
Flames shot out of the third floor, and part of the roof collapsed.
The building's owner says three families live there, and everyone was able to get out.
One resident told WBZ NewsRadio 1030 that she and her husband grabbed their two young children and ran when they heard the smoke alarms.
"My husband just grabbed us, tell us to run out," said Sandra Manjivar.
"Very confused, don't know what happened. We lose everything," she added.
Waltham Fire Chief Paul Ciccone said just getting set up to fight the fire was difficult.
"We had a number of obstacles, narrow streets, trees, and wires," said Chief Ciccone.
They also lost water pressure early on and had to tap other sources which took time.
"None are easy, but houses are big. They're old so fire takes off," Chief Ciccone told WBZ-TV.

"Just the location of the fire, the amount of fire, and logistically we had trees, wires. We've had water issues, so we've had a few problems," the chief said.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
