30 Lbs. Of Marijuana Discovered In Food Shipment From California

FREETOWN (CBS) - Thirty pounds of marijuana turned up at a food distribution center in Freetown on Friday, according to police.

Officers in Freetown say the security staff at a local food distribution facility discovered the marijuana, which had been included in a tractor-trailer shipment of vegetables that came from a California shipper.

The Fall River Herald News identified the food distribution facility as being owned by Stop & Shop. They reported that the marijuana was hidden among a truckload of asparagus.

Stop & Shop is said to be cooperating with investigators.
