3 Arrested In Braintree After Police Chase, Crash In Stolen Vehicle

BRAINTREE (CBS) -- Three people have been arrested Thursday night after allegedly leading police on a chase in a stolen vehicle
that began in Brockton and ended in a crash in Braintree.

The chase started out on the east side of Brockton shortly after 9 p.m. An officer tried to stop the car for motor vehicle violations, but the suspects refused and sped away, police say.

The pursuit went through Holbrook before ending in a crash on Washington Street in Braintree. The suspects, who have not been identified, crashed through a fence and then stopped near a house without hitting it.

The suspects ran from the car, but the foot chase ended quickly, police said. Brockton police say they were taken into custody and will be charged for the stolen motor vehicle out of Walpole, as well as multiple motor vehicle violations.

The vehicle was towed from the scene. The crash remains under investigation by police.
