27 New Booster Seats Get 'Best Bet' Rating

NEW YORK (CBS) - The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety has announced its "best bets" in safety ratings for booster seats this year.

Booster seats elevate children riding in the back seat, providing a good seat belt fit that is essential for kids ages four to eight.

There are 41 new models for 2014 and 27 of them received the "best bet" rating, which is a new record, according to the Institute.

Researchers said there are also three to avoid: the Diono Olympia (highback), the Diono Pacifica (highback), and the Kids Embrace Batman No Back Booster (backless)

Top-rated booster seats can cost anywhere from $25 to more than $350, depending on features.
