State Police said it all happened in the northbound lanes just before 8 a.m.

The first crash was a chain reaction incident that involved nine cars. One person was taken to the hospital with what police described as "non-life-threatening injuries."

Moments later, four more cars crashed.

Another four vehicles crashed in a third incident and then two more collided in a fourth accident.

There were no injuries in the final three crashes.

Traffic was backed up for a while in the area.

It's not clear yet what caused the initial crash or if the wet weather was a factor.
