Swampscott Teen Hit With 108 MPH Speeding Ticket

CLARENDON, Vt. (CBS) — A teen from Swampscott has been accused of driving 108 miles an hour over the weekend.

Vermont State Police say 18-year-old Benjamin Rossman sped by a trooper in a Volvo S60 on Route 103 in Clarendon Saturday evening.

The speed limit in the area was 50 miles per hour.

The trooper pulled Rossman over and took him into custody.

"He was processed and later released on a citation to appear at Vermont Superior Court, Criminal Division to answer to the charge of Excessive speed. The vehicle was towed from the roadside," police said in a statement.

Rossman is due in court November 30.
