Report: Zach Britton Ruptures Achilles, Out At Least 6 Months
BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- Orioles closer Zach Britton has ruptured his Achilles tendon, according to Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic.
It happened Tuesday while the 29-year-old was working out in California, and he's expected to be out at least six months.
Britton, according to CBS Sports, was the best closer in baseball in 2016, finishing fourth in AL Cy Young voting after going 47 for 47 in saves with a 0.54 ERA and 0.84 WHIP.
