Woman Arrested After Striking Officer And Citizen With Her Car In Glen Burnie
BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- Police in Glen Burnie responded to the 660 block of Shelly Road on Thursday afternoon for a report of a vehicular assault on a citizen and a police officer.
As officers arrived they spoke with a 24-year-old male victim and an Anne Arundel County Sheriff's Deputy.
The victims and witnesses reported that the Sheriff's Deputy was in full uniform executing an eviction on the suspect. Police say the woman, later identified as 25-year-old Kalli Kassab, then became disorderly during the eviction process and was asked to leave the property.
As she was leaving , police say Kassab spit on one of the employees and then entered her vehicle and reversed quickly out of a parking spot, striking the employee with her vehicle.
Police say the suspect ran over the employee's leg, placed the car in drive and ran over the employee again. The Sheriff's Deputy then attempted to stop her as she tried to leave the area.
As Kassab pulled away, she allegedly struck the Sheriff's Deputy's gun-belt with the vehicle's driver side mirror before leaving the area.
The first victim was transported to Baltimore Washington Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries. The Sheriff's Deputy was not injured in the incident.
After a lookout for the suspect and vehicle was broadcast, officers were eventually able to apprehend her outside a Dollar Store in the 6600-block of Ritchie Highway.
Kassab is charged with attempted manslaughter, first and second-degree assault, as well as several traffic charges.
