Wind Restrictions In Effect For Bay Bridge

SANDY POINT, Md. (AP) -- Maryland officials are restricting traffic on the Chesapeake Bay Bridge because of high winds.

The Maryland Transportation Authority says there is a wind restriction in place on the bridge Tuesday morning because of sustained winds between 40 mph and 49 mph. That means house trailers, empty box trailers or any vehicle vulnerable to high winds won't be allowed to cross.

There are also wind warnings in place on the Tydings and Key bridges because of sustained winds or gusts of 30 mph to 39 mph.

Motorists operating house trailers, box trailers, motorcycles and vehicles with roof-mount racks are warned to use caution while crossing.
