When do Maryland polls open on Election Day? What voters need to know
BALTIMORE -- On Tuesday, Nov. 5, Maryland polls will be open for the 2024 election between 7 a.m. and 8 p.m.
To vote, you'll need to go to your assigned polling place.
If you are in line at or before 8 p.m., remember to stay in line until you cast your ballot.
How to find your voting location
You can find your assigned polling place by visiting the Maryland State Board of Elections website and searching your address.
Voters can also use the website to find their voting districts and local board of elections.
If you requested a mail-in ballot and now want to vote in person, you will need to cancel your mail-in ballot via Maryland's Online Voter Registration System.
Does your polling place change automatically if you move?
If you've already changed your address on your driver's license or state ID, your polling place will be changed automatically.
If you haven't officially changed your address, you'll need to make sure you're registered at your current address to vote.
Do I need an ID to vote in Maryland?
If you previously voted in Maryland, you do not need to bring an ID to your polling location.
However, first-time voters who registered by mail will need to provide a form of ID. Acceptable documents include a Maryland driver's license, U.S. Passport, state or federal ID card, or a student, employee or military ID.
Can I register to vote at the polls?
In Maryland, you can register to vote on Election Day at your assigned polling place as long as you bring a valid ID or document that shows where you live.
Forms of acceptable ID include a Maryland driver's license, change of address card, paycheck or utility bill.
