Students At Westminster-Area School Returned After Evacuation

WESTMINSTER , Md. (WJZ) -- Students at Winter Mills High School in Westminster are evacuated due to a bomb threat.

According to police, students were taken to nearby Cranberry Station Elementary Wednesday morning.

Parents at both schools were alerted.

"This morning the administration at Winters Mill High School received a bomb threat. Under the direction of the Supervisor of School Security and as a precautionary measure, we have evacuated the building and students have been moved to the gymnasium at Cranberry Station Elementary School," the alert stated. "A search of the facility is underway by the Carroll County Sheriff's Department and we will re-enter as soon as police indicate there is no imminent danger."

Students were returned after police conducted a comprehensive search of the building. No threat or danger was detected.

The investigation is ongoing.
