Weekend marred by violence, with three killed, in Baltimore City

BALTIMORE - People throughout Charm City attended several events this weekend to celebrate the holiday season amid what became a very violent two days in Baltimore.

There were several shootings across the city this weekend, including one where two people were killed. In another shooting, shots were fired inside a local movie theatre.

"We hear the shots, pop, pop, pop," Alex Lokey, from Baltimore, said.

It happened in the upscale Harbor East neighborhood at Harbor East Cinemas Saturday night. Baltimore police say shots were fired inside a movie theater.

WJZ spoke to a man who witnessed it.

"I look over at the other side of the row we're sitting in and that's when I see the muzzle flares," Lokey said. "At that point, we got out of there as quickly as possible."

Baltimore Police said no one was hurt and they didn't catch the shooter.

Earlier that same day, in the 4000 block of Edmondson Avenue, a man was shot in the face at a bus stop.

He died at the hospital, leaving community members shaken.

"It's crazy," Nikki, from Baltimore, said. "It's like, when are y'all going to pull together, instead of pull apart. It's sad. It's just so sad."

Two other men were injured in separate shootings on Saturday.

Then, just before 3 a.m. on Sunday, Baltimore Police said a domestic dispute turned deadly.

Two 28-year-old men were shot to death inside a home in the 3600 block of Greenmount Avenue.

Also, just before noon on Sunday, a 23-year-old man was shot in the 1700 block of Manor Avenue in Southeast Baltimore. He is expected to survive.

No arrests have been made in any of these shootings.

"The holiday season, we should be feeling love and joy and peace for our neighbors and our friends," Lauren Davis, from Baltimore, said.
