WEATHER BLOG: Damp Thursday
The round of showers and thunderstorms Wednesday led to more localized flooding.
The National Weather Service has wasted no time issuing a Flash Flood Watch from noon through the evening, and with a very moisture-laden air mass in place -- it wouldn't take much rain in some areas to cause some big flooding.
There will be another shower or thunderstorm late Thursday night, and then the activity is expected to ramp up again Friday, especially from midday on. As a cold front approaches the Eastern Seaboard, it will cause some locally heavy rainfall, and flooding is again a credible threat.
Behind this front late Friday night and on Saturday, it will be turning somewhat less humid and the weekend weather should be nicer. Highs will be mostly in the 80s with no less than partial sunshine.
