Weather Alert Day For Friday And Saturday Due To Snow Potential

BALTIMORE (WJZ)The WJZ First Alert Weather Team Has Issued Alert Days for Friday and Saturday.

A Nor'easter is going to bring Maryland a variety of impacts as we wrap up the work week and head into the weekend.

Western Maryland will see snow showers late Thursday night into Friday morning.

Snow potential begins in central Maryland on Friday afternoon and increases Friday night.

Some places might see a brief wintry mix to start off, but after sunset everything will change over to snow.

The bulk of the snow will fall overnight into Saturday morning.

The Baltimore metropolitan area will likely see 1-3 inches of snow with higher amounts the farther east or south you go.

A Winter Storm Watch is in effect for the Eastern Shore from Friday evening into Saturday evening.

Six to 10 inches of snow are expected with some places picking up higher snowfall totals.

Winds will also be a significant factor in this storm.

Gusts between 40-45 miles per hour on Saturday will lead to blowing snow and reduced visibility.

The combination of whipping winds and frigid air will lead to dangerously low wind chills near zero Saturday and Saturday night.

Stay with the WJZ First Alert Weather team as we continue to watch the models. We will update you on air and right here are cbsbaltimore.com.

And remember, you can stay ahead of any storm with the CBS Baltimore app.
