Prince George's Co. Fire Crews Rescue Cop Attempting To Save 3 People Who Fell Through Ice
BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- Prince George's County rescue crews saved a police officer and three people after the cop tried to save the group who had fallen through ice on a pond Sunday afternoon, officials say.
Prince George's County Fire crews responded to the Glenridge Community Park in Riverdale, Maryland, around 3:30 p.m. for a report of people drowning. A Prince George's County Police officer was found submerged in the water along with three men.
Today around 3:30 pm, 2 of our officers responded to the Glenridge Park in Riverdale after receiving a 911 call for 3 people drowning after falling through the ice. Both officers went onto the ice to help victims in the freezing water. 1 officer fell through the ice. pic.twitter.com/XUgZr855zW

Rescue crews were able to use ropes and ladders to rescue all four people.
After falling through, our officer was able to pull himself and 1/3 victims out of the water to safety. @PGFDNews was also quick to respond and rescued the remaining 2 people in the water. 2 victims and our officer were taken to the hospital for treatment related to hypothermia. pic.twitter.com/Rvk14QqAsS

The officer and two of the men were taken to a local hospital for hypothermia-related treatment. The third man did not receive treatment.
The temperature was in the upper 50s.
