Washington, DC, Woman Dies In Western Maryland ATV Accident

OAKLAND, Md. (AP) -- The Garrett County Sheriff's Office say a Washington, D.C., woman died from injuries she suffered when the all-terrain vehicle she was driving went over an embankment in the mountains of western Maryland.

Spokeswoman Brenda Reckner said Wednesday the sheriff's office is investigating the death of 48-year-old Kimberly Warrenfeltz. Her body was found early Sunday at the Youghiogeny Mountain Resort, a residential and vacation-home community near McHenry, about 170 miles from Washington.

Reckner said it's unclear if Warrenfeltz was wearing a helmet.

She was reported missing shortly before midnight Saturday. It took search-and-rescue teams about 3 1/2 hours to find her.
