VP Joe Biden's Youngest Son Discharged From Navy After Drug Test
WASHINGTON (WJZ)—The vice president is dealing with a scandal after the military discharged Joe Biden's youngest son.
Linh Bui has the shocking reason why he got kicked out.
Hunter Biden was assigned to a Norfolk, Va. based Reserve unit until he reportedly failed a drug test.
Hunter Biden's discharge from the Navy Reserve happened in February, but details are just coming to light.
The Wall Street Journal cites two people familiar with the matter reporting that Biden tested positive for cocaine.
The 44-year-old failed the drug test not even a year after he started work as a part-time public affairs officer.
Married with three children, Hunter Biden confirmed his discharge in a statement but did not acknowledge the drug use, "it was the honor of my life to serve in the U.S. Navy, and I deeply regret and am embarrassed that my actions led to my administrative discharge."
The youngest son of the vice president, Hunter Biden often helped his father campaign for office.
He's currently a managing partner at a Washington, D.C. investment firm.
A U.S. official says the Navy never had contact with the vice president's office over the issue.
The vice president's officer did not comment on the report.
