Vehicle Drives Into High School Cafeteria

SPARROWS POINT, Md. (WJZ) -- A vehicle has driven into the cafeteria of Sparrows Point High School.

Detectives are trying to figure out how a Ford Explorer hit the high school. It happened shortly before 10 p.m. The driver rear-ended another driver, plowed into the cafeteria and the car flipped.

One person has been seriously injured. That person has been airlifted to the hospital.

The extent of the damage to the school is unknown. School may be canceled on Wednesday; assessors are trying to figure that out.

It's unknown if speed or alcohol played a factor.
