UMD's Melo Trimble Name To US Pan American Team

BALTIMORE (WJZ)—University of Maryland's rising sophomore Melo Trimble has been selected to play on the 12-member  2015 U.S. Pan American Men's Basketball team, officials announced on Sunday.

Trimble will become the third player affiliated with Maryland basketball to play on the in the Pan American games, joining James Gist (2007) and Walt Tilliams (1991).

Mark Few of Gonzaga University is the head coach of the team along with University of Colorado's Tad Boyle and longtime NBA coach Mike Brown.

The 2015 games will take place on July 21-25 in Tronto, Canada.

Joining Trimble on the 2015 U.S. Pan American Men's Basketball Team are: Ron Baker (Wichita State/Scott City, Kan.); Malcolm Brogdon (Virginia/Atlanta, Ga.); Bobby Brown (Dongguan Leopards, China/Los Angeles, Calif.); Ryan Hollins (Sacramento Kings/Pasadena, Calif.); Keith Langford (UNICS Kazan, Russia/Fort Worth, Texas); Shawn Long (Louisiana/Morgan City, La.); Taurean Prince (Baylor/San Antonio, Texas); Anthony Randolph (Lokomotiv-Kuban, Russia/ Pasadena, Calif.); Kaleb Tarczewski (Arizona/Claremont, N.H.); Denzel Valentine (Michigan State/Lansing, Mich.); and Damien Wilkins (Indios de Mayagüez, Puerto Rico/Orlando, Fla.).
