Uber, Steve Smith Partner To Donate $5K To Domestic Violence Survivors
BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- Baltimore Ravens wide receiver Steve Smith Sr. took some time on Monday to surprise fans around Charm City with free Uber rides.
Uber is donating $5,000 in rides for families at House of Ruth Maryland. The rides will provide women fleeing a situation the means to get somewhere safely.
Steve Smith Sr., whose mother is a domestic violence survivor, says the cause hits home. "I know the impact that it has on families and children, because I'm one of those children."
The Steve Smith Family Foundation will also hold a Fashion Show on Oct. 10 to benefit the House of Ruth.
