2 People Shot After Argument At Community Football Game In Severn Thanksgiving Day, Anne Arundel County Police Say
SEVERN, MD. (WJZ) -- Police are searching for a suspect after two people were shot following an argument during a community football game in Severn on Thanksgiving day.
Anne Arundel County Police officers responded to the area of Meade Village Road for a report of a shooting at around 1:39 p.m.
When they arrived, they found two people with gunshot wounds. Police said their injuries appeared to be life-threatening. They were taken to area hospitals.
"Apparently this is a football game that happens every year," Anne Arundel County Police Sergeant Kam Cook said. "And as far as the neighborhood, I'm sure it's members of this neighborhood as well as perhaps other neighboring communities. I think that happens around a lot of areas around Thanksgiving. Unfortunately, it resulted in a senseless act of violence."
Police said this remains an active investigation, and no further information is available at this time.
Anyone with information is urged to contact police immediately.
