Twins Born Minutes Apart, But In Different Years

WASHINGTON (AP) -- MedStar Washington Hospital Center says a woman gave birth to twins near midnight on New Year's, with one born in 2013 and the other born in 2014.

A hospital spokeswoman says the twins were born to Yaleni Tohalino and Warren Begazo of Silver Spring, Md. A girl, Lorraine Yaleni Begazo, was born at 11:58 p.m. Tuesday. Her brother, Brandon Ferdinando Begazo, arrived at 12:01 a.m. Wednesday.

The spokeswoman says Lorraine weighed about 6 pounds, 5 ounces; Brandon weighed 5 pounds, 10 ounces.
