Tuesday Body Count Rises To 3 People, 11 Shot Total After 7 Shootings

BALTIMORE (WJZ) — A violent day in Baltimore Tuesday as three people were fatally wounded,  11 total people shot.

At 10:24 p.m., police responded to the 2500 block of Cylburn Avenue to investigate a shooting.

An man was found suffering from gunshot wounds to his body. He was taken to an area hospital for treatment.

Then at 7:33 p.m., police were dispatched to the 3900 block of Boarman Avenue to investigate a shooting.

There they found a 37-year-old woman suffering from a gunshot wound to the hand. He was taken to an area hospital for treatment.

Earlier, police were dispatched to the 1100 block of North Carey Street to investigate a reported shooting around 6:21 p.m..

When they arrived they found 52-year-old Alvin Howard with gunshot wounds. A medic was called to take Howard to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center.

Shortly after he arrived, Howard died from his injuries.

Eight people were shot in four shootings total before 4 p.m.

Earlier Tuesday at 2:37 p.m., a second man died from gunshot wounds to his body.

Officers were on patrol when they heard gunshots coming from the 1800 block of W. Fayette Street.

Shortly after, they found 29-year-old Jonte Lee with gunshot wounds to his body. Lee was taken to an area hospital where he died from his injuries.

A total of three people have died in a series of shootings Tuesday. There have been nine people shot in four shootings total before 4 p.m.

It began overnight when two people were shot in what police believe to be related shootings.

Later that morning, at 9:04 a.m., a 21-year-old man and an 18-year-old woman suffered gunshot wounds after police were dispatched to the 9200 block of Westwood Ave for a report of a shooting. Both victims were taken to area hospitals for treatment.

As the day progressed, three more people were shot, one fatally.

1 Dead In Triple Shooting Near Penn-North

Police were dispatched to the 2400 block of Pennsylvania Avenue to investigate a reported shooting and found three men with gunshot wounds. One of the men, 29-year-old Kerel Belton, died after arriving at a hospital for treatment.
