Tirik Trotman, Nathaniel Diggs Arrested In Triple Shooting That Injured 10-Year-Old Girl, 2 Men

BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- Two men have been arrested in connection to a triple shooting late last month that injured three people, including 10-year-old Kaelin Washington, the Baltimore Police Department said.

Detectives arrested 27-year-old Tirik Trotman Monday morning. He is charged with three counts of attempted first-degree murder and three counts of reckless endangerment, among other charges.

Police arrested another man, 23-year-old Nathaniel Diggs, on February 27, the day of the shooting. Diggs is being held without bail on a number of gun charges.

The shooting happened before 3:30 p.m. in the area of the 2300 block of North Fulton Avenue. Police said two groups of people got into an argument, leading to the shooting.

Besides Kaelin, a 45-year-old man and a 23-year-old man were injured.

Kaelin, who was shot in the chest, told WJZ she didn't think she was going to make it.

"I was thinking I wasn't going to stay in this world," Kaelin said.

She said she was walking to the store when she was shot. Fortunately, she was released from the hospital, but the bullet remains lodged in her back.

Jasmine Ramsey, Kaelin's mom, said she wants justice for her daughter.

"My baby is strong," Ramsey said. "I'm glad that they're moving in the right direction. I want justice for my baby."

Ramsey said, although she was pleased to hear arrests were made, she wants the violence to end.

"It was just careless," she said. "They had no type of regard for a human being, and it's unacceptable."

Police did not say if they plan to make any more arrests in the case.
