Tree Falls, Kills Man At Howard County Home

WOODBINE, Md. (AP) -- Howard County officials say a tree fell on a man and killed him while he was grilling at a home in Woodbine.

Rescuers were called to the home for a report of a man trapped under a tree Saturday about 4:30 p.m. They found the man who had sustained fatal injuries. Three children also received minor injuries when the tree fell. They were treated at a hospital and released.

Authorities are investigating what caused the tree to fall, but it appeared to have been rotten and then fell.

The house has been deemed uninhabitable due to a large hole in the roof. The Red Cross is aiding the family that lives at the home.
