Travis Snider Joins Scott & Jeremy
Baltimore Orioles Outfielder Travis Snider joined the Scott Garceau Show with Jeremy Conn to talk about heading into his first opening day with Baltimore. Snider was acquired in January from the Pittsburgh Pirates in exchange for some farm hands. Travis took a quick moment to reflect on his first Spring Training with the Orioles. "I think we've had a productive spring thus far and we look forward to wrapping up these next couple of days and start playing for real."
Travis has an interesting twitter handle with it being @Lunchboxhero45. Jeremy asked for the back story on his twitter handle. "Lunchbox was a nickname I got in high school, I was a pretty big freshman 6'1 225 lbs and I used to play varsity football and hang with the older guy. Well I used to sit down for dinner after a game and ate about 30 dollars worth of Taco Bell and after that they said you're going to be the lunch box so I would be a Fullback and a Middle Linebacker and filled out that way."
Travis fills the void left by long time Orioles Right Fielder Nick Markakis. Snider discussed how he has adjusted replacing a long time figure in Baltimore. "I think having experience in different roles in my career has prepared me for the transition in coming over here. What Nick did in his career here is pretty unbelievable, he spent a lot of time in this organization and I know he'll have a special place in this fan base and I am not coming in here trying to be Nick or Nelson or any of those guys. We focus on the 25 guys we have here in Baltimore and how we can collectively come together and win ballgames."
