Towson Falls To UConn 110-61 In First NCAA Tournament Appearance In School History

STORRS, Ct. (WJZ) -- In it's first NCAA Tournament appearance in school history, Towson fell to UConn 110-61.

The Tigers (20-12, 11-7 CAA) were outscored by the Huskies (32-2, 16-0 AAC) in the first quarter by 24 points.

At the end of the first half, Towson went into the locker room down 24 points.

In the second half, UConn continued to knock down shots and play tight defense. The team held Towson to just 32 percent shooting from the field.

Redshirt sophomore guard Kionna Jeter led the Tigers in scoring with 20 points.

UConn's starting five all registered double figures in scoring.

The No. 2 seeded Huskies face No. 10 seeded Buffalo in the next round of the NCAA Tournament.
