Officials brace for potential flooding in Baltimore, Howard counties in aftermath of storms

BALTIMORE -- Heavy rainfall not only put a damper on Sunday afternoon plans, but it also caused concern for flash flooding in many areas from Baltimore to Howard County.

Heavy downpours swept through several communities across Maryland.

Baltimore City leaders told residents to brace for the potential for flooding.

One of the areas in the city known to flood, Fells Point, fared well during the storm.

Howard County leaders were also concerned about flooding.

A warning was issued to residents in Ellicott City asking them to not park along Main Street between Maryland Avenue and Ellicott Mills Drive.

The county placed cones in the parking spaces to prevent drivers from parking and removed them after the storm.
