The Wire's Sonja Sohn In Baltimore For Freddie Gray Trials

BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- Back in July, the cast of The Wire, including actress Sonja Sohn, returned to Baltimore for an event to reflect on a pivotal moment for the community. The cast members reunited onstage to talk about the issues still plaguing the area and took turns reciting monologues of stories told to them by members of Baltimore's Sandtown-Winchester community about the protests over the murder of Freddie Gray.

The cast performed for a crowd of almost 1,000 people at the Modell Performing Arts Center in Baltimore.

Sohn has been an active member of the Baltimore community since her time the television series. She founded her own non-profit, ReWired for Change, to help keep troubled youth off the streets. Sohn penned an op-ed for The New York Times after Gray's death was ruled a homicide titled "Baltimore Taught Me About Hope." 

And now, as the Freddie Gray trials begin today in Baltimore, The Wire's Sonja Sohn is back on the scene and reportedly working on a documentary.
