Maryland voters are on the verge of choosing their next governor and at WJZ the set was ready for the candidates to come face-to-face.
It's a one-hour debate that took place right here inside our WJZ studios on TV Hill.
Political analyst Don Norris explains there's a lot at stake.
"What each candidate needs to accomplish at the debates is first to look personable so that they don't turn people off with their demeanor. And secondly, they have to not make any mistakes," Norris said.
Both candidates are coming off big wins in the primary, but it's all about what happens when voters go to the polls this November.
Tuesday's debate, sponsored by WJZ and The Baltimore Sun may help you make that decision.
A special thanks to those of you who sent us questions. Vic Carter and The Baltimore Sun's Editorial Page Editor, Andy Green, are using many of them.
"Different people are going to have different perspectives on who wins or who loses -- again -- unless somebody make a really big mistake," Norris added.
Representatives for both candidates came to WJZ for the ceremonial "coin toss" to determine format issues like who goes first earlier in October.
