The Governor Chats With the Fan

The Governor of Maryland Martin O'Malley called in to join the Scott Garceau show with Jeremy Conn to talk about Orioles Opening Day and the team in general this past Monday. Jeremy asked the Governor if he had a favorite Opening Day moment, and the Governor went back to his first Opening Day as Mayor. "The first one as Mayor, lets be honest sporting events and elected officials don't mix very well. I had just been elected mayor and it was very early in the administration, threw out the opening pitch, and had a blast. Everybody cheered and I had my daughters with me and it was fun."

Scott then hopped on and talked about the optimism surrounding the team. "You can feel the energy. You feel the buzz throughout the state and you certainly can feel it today."

Finally Terry Ford who was sitting in for Scott asked the Governor if he remembers the first opening day he ever went too. "My first year of law school which is when I moved to Baltimore so probably 1985."
