Terps Lead Big Ten In Men's Basketball Attendance
COLLEGE PARK, Md. – The Big Ten announced that the University of Maryland men's basketball program led the conference and ranked fifth nationally in attendance, averaging 17,863 fans per game during the 2015-16 season.
Maryland increased its average attendance from the 2014-15 season by 5,169 fans per game, the largest increase in the nation. This marked Maryland's first time in the top-five in overall attendance since the 2003-04 season. Maryland sold out 16 out of its 17 home games at XFINITY Center in 2015-16.
Under Mark Turgeon, the Terps have compiled a 33-2 record at the XFINITY Center the past two seasons, including a 17-1 mark in Big Ten home games.
Maryland finished the 2015-16 campaign with a 27-9 record and advanced to the Sweet 16 for the first time since 2003.
