Baltimore County Police: Teen stabbed at Kenwood High School, student suspect arrested
BALTIMORE -- A student, was injured and another student was arrested following a stabbing at Kenwood High School in Baltimore County, according to police.
Baltimore County officers were sent to the school at around 12:05 p.m. for a reported disturbance, police said.
Two Baltimore County School Resource Officers were already at the school when the assault happened, according to authorities.
County officers found a teen suffering from multiple stab wounds. Police said the teen was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The Baltimore County Police Department initially detained a suspect. They announced in a statement hours later that county officers had arrested a male student in connection with the stabbing.
The school was placed on a temporary lock-down, which has since been lifted.
Investigators are looking into how the weapon was brought into the school, according to a Baltimore County Police spokesman.
News traveled fast across campus, leaving students in shock.
"That something like that would happen is crazy," one student told WJZ.
This is the second incident in months where police were called to campus. Back in December, officers were sent to Kenwood High School after threats were made about a student with a weapon inside the school. No weapon was found, but a student was taken into custody.
