Teen, 16, killed in Northeast Baltimore shooting

BALTIMORE -- A teenager who died after he was shot in Northeast Baltimore on Monday attended school at REACH! Partnership School in Baltimore, the school district said.

Khaleel Jones, 16, was shot in the 4600 block of Bowleys Lane, police said.

Officers found him when responding around 11:30 p.m. to the 2500 block of Orleans Street in Southeast Baltimore for what was initially believed to be a crash involving a pedestrian. 

They found him lying in the street. He was unresponsive, according to authorities. 

The teen was taken to an area hospital, which is where medical personnel pronounced him dead.

Investigators later learned that he was not struck by a car, but he was shot on Bowleys Lane. Someone had driven him to the 2500 block of Orleans Street, police said.
