Suspicious Death In Hagerstown

HAGERSTOWN, Md. (AP) -- Police in Hagerstown say they're investigating the suspicious death of a person whose decomposing remains were found in an upstairs apartment near the city center.
Lt. Jim Hurd said Wednesday that police were called by a maintenance worker who found the body Tuesday. Hurd says the remains are those of a male. He declined to provide any information about the person's age and whether he or she lived alone in the building on Summit Ave.
Hurd says police consider the death suspicious because of the manner in which the body was found.
He says the remains have been sent to the state medical examiner's office in Baltimore for an autopsy.
