Suspects Sought Following Senior Prank Destruction In AACo.
ANNE ARUNDEL COUNTY, Md. (WJZ)-- An alleged senior prank turns criminal when vandals target an Anne Arundel County High School -- just hours after graduation ceremonies.
Christie Ileto has more on the damage and search for the people behind the blatant lawlessness.
Caught on surveillance. Four masked and hooded individuals desecrate Chesapeake High School 12 hours after the senior class graduates.
"It's a terrible school prank gone bad because this is a malicious act," said Lt. James Fredericks, Anne Arundel County Police Department.
This alleged prank leads to $2,000 in damages. A cost, officials fear could grow, as the building, doors and a county vehicle coated in spray paint that reads "2015."
Police say the suspects damaged several doors around the school including shoving puddy and gum in some of the door locks.
"Pranking and vandalism shouldn't be a part of senior tradition and it's sad, said one parent. "It should be a proud moment, an exciting time, you should be happy to move on from the school you shouldn't come back and wreck it and make work for hard working people that work on the school everyday."
A cloud of disappointment hangs over the school community.
Charges were dropped last month against seven graduating seniors in St. Mary's County after they allegedly broke into their school, releasing 72,000 lady bugs as a senior prank.
But it's the distinct masks and attire of the suspects in this latest incident, police hope identify who's behind the brazen prank.
