Man Arrested Following Elderly Assault In Owings Mills
BALTIMORE COUNTY, Md. (WJZ)—Authorities have charged a man in connection with a home invasion in Owings Mills on Thursday.
It happened just after 4:00 p.m. in the 9900 block of Middle Mill Drive for a reported home invasion.
At the scene, a 76-year-old man and his 76-year-old wife were found suffering from injuries to their heads.
A preliminary investigation has revealed that while the couple was inside their home they heard a knock at the door. When the woman went to open the door police say she was struck in the head with a hand gun and then thrown into a closet.
Police say when the victim's husband came running to check on his wife he was also struck several times in the head with a gun-- while the suspect demanded keys to his Lexus.
According to investigators, the suspect then took the keys, attempted to start the car, but was unsuccessful and fled the scene.
Evidence left at the scene assisted in the apprehension of the suspect and revealed that an air soft gun was used in the incident.
Police identified the suspect as 21-year-old Wesley John Moore and charged him with home invasion, armed robbery, and other related charges.
He is currently being held at the Baltimore County Detention Center.
