Steve Palazzolo On The Impact Of Losing Terrell Suggs For The Ravens
Steve Palazzolo is the Senior Analyst at Pro Football Focus and a contributor on ESPN.com.
Steve joined Ed and Steve to talk about the statistical analysis of the Ravens loss to the Broncos.
Steve asked Steve about the performance of Terrell Suggs and the impact his injury will have on the Ravens defense. Steve acknowledged that Suggs wasn't quite his normal self, but his loss will be tough to overcome saying, "he wasn't doing his usual work. Year in year out he's one of the best run defenders in the league to go along with his pass rush. I think his injury is going to be a big loss for the Ravens."
Ed asked Steve about his thoughts on the play of the Ravens Offensive tackles in week 1. Steve noted that it was one of the worst performances ever from a pair of offensive tackles, "this was as bad as we've ever seen two offensive tackles play in a game ever. Credit the Broncos pass rush, but it was a long day for James Hurst and Rick Wagner. Joe was pressured of 64 percent of his drop backs which is absurd.
Steve went on to discuss the play of Joe Flacco and inside linebackers Darryl smith and C.J. Moseley as well as what we should look forward to heading into the Ravens week 2 match up with Oakland.
