Steve Davis: Clausen Or Schaub?
If I'm the Ravens, I'm starting Jimmy Clausen this week vs. KC, even if Schaub is healthy.
I thought Clausen performed well, considering the circumstances, against Seattle. He really had nothing to work with. The Ravens were down to their 3rd string running back. They were without their left tackle, so their left guard was playing a position he hasn't played since college. Their center is out for the year, so their backup guard is now the starting center. They are without their best receiver, Steve Smith, and the guy who was supposed to challenge him for that, Breshad Perriman. Oh yeah, they didn't have their starting tight end or their top back (Boyle has been better than Williams so far).
Considering all that, Clausen didn't have chance; Joe Flacco wouldn't have had a chance. However, Clausen hung in there, was only sacked once and had one interception. That's enough for me to run him out there again, not so much because he gives them a chance to win, but I want to see if he can be a decent backup quarterback in the future.
