Some Rail Service Suspended After Person Hit By Train In DC
WASHINGTON (AP) -- Some MARC commuter rail service has been suspended after officials say a person was hit by a train north of Washington's Union Station.
D.C. police and fire officials say a train hit a person Thursday morning in a rail yard near New York Avenue in northeast Washington.
Maryland Transit Administration spokesman Paul Shepard says the person was hit by a MARC commuter train. The MTA says all Penn line service is suspended.
D.C. Fire department spokesman Tim Wilson says paramedics responded, but he did not have information about the person's condition.
Amtrak officials could not be reached to say whether Amtrak service is affected.
