8-year-old dies days after being rescued from Dundalk house fire

8-year-old injured in early morning Dundalk house fire

BALTIMORE -- An 8-year-old who was saved from a Dundalk house fire on September 4 has now died, according to the Baltimore County Fire Department. 

Nolan Mars was found by fire crews in a second-floor bedroom and taken to the hospital with critical injuries.

The fire broke out early last Wednesday morning in the 3000 block of Dunleer Road.

An adult and four additional children made it out of the home on their own but were taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

Two dogs and nine cats were pulled from the burning home by firefighters. All nine cats died in the fire.

The blaze has been ruled accidental due to an electrical malfunction.
