Areal Flood Warnings, Flash Flood Watches Issued In Maryland

BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- A flash flood watch was issued by the National Weather Service for Anne Arundel, Baltimore, Calvert, Charles, Frederick, Harford, Howard, Prince Georges and St. Mary's counties, and southern Baltimore city until midnight.

An areal flood warning is in effect until 12:45 a.m. in southern Baltimore and Baltimore County. Some locations that may experience flooding include Baltimore, Pikesville, Middle River, Sparrows Point, Back River, Dundalk, Towson, Catonsville, Essex, Woodlawn, Randallstown, Parkville, Owings Mills, Carney, Milford Mill, Perry Hall, Reisterstown, Lochearn, Arbutus and Rosedale.

An areal flood warning is also in effect for Harford County until 2 a.m.

According to NWS, periods of showers and thunderstorms will continue into the evening. There is potential for repetitive rounds of precipitation. Combined with saturated ground and high stream levels from Saturday`s rainfall, this precipitation could lead to flash flooding.
